JBER to welcome Thunderbirds, Joint Forces Demo at
Arctic Thunder Open House
______________________________________________________________________________
JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska – Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson will host the biannual Arctic Thunder Open House July 20 and 21, 2024, with the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, headlining the event along with other military and civilian air acts.
The Thunderbirds' F-16 Fighting Falcons, a multi-role fighter jet, will perform formation flying and solo routines. They have been one of the top draws to air shows throughout the U.S. and around the world since 1953.
“This is our opportunity, every two years, to open our gates to the public and invite the community in to show them, up close, what we do every day,” said U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Lee Morgan, director of ATOH 2024. “It is an incredible opportunity for us to interact with the community which is so supportive of our military. It allows our Airmen and Soldiers the opportunity to shake your hand, say ‘thank you,’ and inspire the people of Alaska who inspire us every day.”
The theme for ATOH 2024 is
“Honoring Legacy…. Inspiring the Next Generation.”
