Welcome to the Abbott Loop Community Council

ONE CITY, MANY NEIGHBORHOODS

The Abbott Loop Community Council is the voice for all Abbott Loop residents and actively works to improve the quality of life in the Abbott Loop area. Its borders are Dowling Road on the north, O'Malley Road on the south, New Seward Hwy. on the west, Elmore Road on the east, and an additional smaller area to the east roughly between Elmore Road, Abbott Road, Birch Road, and O'Malley Road.

The agenda includes presentations on proposed rezones, road construction projects, neighborhood issues and topics of citywide interest. Resolutions stating the council’s position on important issues are distributed to the state and local government.

Elected officials from the Alaska Legislature, the Anchorage Assembly, and the Anchorage School Board also give updates on their work and field questions from the audience.

Council meetings are normally held the last Thursday of each month at Trailside Elementary School or via Zoom. The setting is informal and participation is encouraged. Everyone is invited! June and July we generally meet outside at various parks.
