The Spenard Community Council generally meets on the 1st Wednesday of the month (except for July & August).

Meetings are typically held at 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm.

Meetings are offered both in-person & via Zoom.

  • CivicAnchor to Launch on April 14th at Planning Department Open House at the Loussac Library: The Anchorage Assembly’s Legislative Services Office is launching a new civic engagement program this month to coincide with the Planning Department’s Open House in the atrium of Loussac Library on April 14, 2026.
  • Here for your review are the Title II-A and Title IV-A grant proposals being considered for FY 2027. For your information, these grants are not allowed to be used for supporting/”supplanting” the general budget. 

     

    Please consider helping the Anchorage School District by looking over these grants and providing input on the linked form. You’re feedback is valuable to us and will be used to refine the existing grants and inform the creation of future proposals.

     

    Title II-A Grant Proposal 

    Title II-A (Supporting Effective Instruction) is 

    a federal grant program under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) designed to increase student achievement by improving teacher and school leader quality.

     

    Title IV-A Grant Proposal

    Title IV, Part A, is a federal grant program under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 designed to improve student academic achievement by providing formula grants to schools. It focuses on three key areas: providing a well-rounded education, improving safe and healthy school environments, and increasing the effective use of technology.
