Local Lens - A Deeper Dive into Local Issues

To help our city’s residents get more involved, we’ve set up a space where we can explore important topics that impact our community. This online space allows us to have Q&A sessions and take more time to think about these issues. Each Local Lens focuses on one specific topic that is currently being talked about in our neighborhoods, local Assembly meetings, or at the State level. We hold these sessions on Zoom and everyone is welcome to join in.

Property Assessments: What’s Changes and What’s Ahead?

Monday, October 19 at 6PM

Join the FCC in conversation with Jack Gadamus, Municipal Assessor, as he shares information on identifying, describing, and valuing all taxable real and personal property to ensure a fair and equitable basis for property taxation. He will also share what has changes and what is ahead for property assessments.

After presentations, there will be a chance for the audience to get their questions answered.

HUD Annual Action Plan

Monday, November 9 at 6PM

Join the FCC in conversation with Jed Drolet, Community Systems Program Manager, to learn about how the Municipality of Anchorage allocates the entitlement funds they receive annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. These funds include Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnership Funds, and the Emergency Solutions Grant Program, and each pot of funding is used to serve low- or moderate-income residents of the municipality in a variety of ways.

After presentations, there will be a chance for the audience to get their questions answered.
