The Abbott Loop Community Council generally meets on the last Thursday of the month. We will not have a December meeting.

The next meeting of ALCC is scheduled for

Thursday, February 22nd, 2018, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

LOCATION:    Abbott Loop Elementary

The Home and LandOwner’s Organization, Inc. “HALO” will be hosting a Candidate Forum prior to the April 2018 election. It will be held Thursday, March 1st, at O'Malley's on the Green, starting at 6 pm sharp.

These events are generally the sole opportunity the community has to ask questions of candidates in a public forum.  In addition, they are a good opportunity to study each of the ballot propositions including bonds, asking questions of advocate sponsors and those opposed.

This year we will also have a presentation of the proposed area-wide solution to our roads, trails and drainage issues as described in the Hillside District Plan.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the 2nd Annual Abbott Loop Community Picnic to be held at the Abbott Loop Community Park (near Elmore and 84th) on June 28th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Welcome to the Abbott Loop Community Council

The Abbott Loop Community Council is the voice for all Abbott Loop residents and actively works to improve the quality of life in the Abbott Loop area. Its borders are Dowling Road on the north, O'Malley Road on the south, New Seward Hwy. on the west, Elmore Road on the east, and an additional smaller area to the east roughly between Elmore Road, Abbott Road, Birch Road, and O'Malley Road.

The agenda includes presentations on proposed rezones, road construction projects, neighborhood issues and topics of citywide interest. Resolutions stating the council’s position on important issues are distributed to the state and local government.

Elected officials from the Alaska Legislature, the Anchorage Assembly and the Anchorage School Board also give updates on their work and field questions from the audience.

Council meetings are held the last Thursday of each month at Abbott Loop Elementary School. The setting is informal and participation is encouraged. Everyone is invited!
